Rosh HaShana Davening – A Message from Rabbi Spira

As we are coming close to Rosh HaShana – after having gone through what is probably one of the most difficult years in our lives in many aspects (and it is unfortunately not over yet) – I felt that this situation demanded that we find a way to stand in front of the Ribono Shel Oilom together. We’ve discussed the issues at length; it is clear to me that our shul, as many other shuls, have people of starkly opposite opinions regarding wearing masks, and the approach to this virus in general. I want you to know that we have tried to find a way to accommodate most of you; despite the fact that for some of you it is a stretch, I truly hope that most of you will be able to join our shul’s davening.
Our shul will be moving to the Brookhaven mall for the Yomim Noraim, until after sukkos. The room there is almost double the size of the current shul and has very high ceilings. This will give us the opportunity to have an ezras noshim, as well as a section for non- mask mispallelim to sit in the very front, and people who want to wear masks far behind them.
Additional details will be forthcoming in the next week or so. It is our hope that the zchus of the koach harabim will stand on our side and hopefully we should all be zoiche for a ksiva vechasima toiva.
