General Membership Meeting

This Monday, December 25, 2017, after the 8:30am Shachris, the Shul will hold its annual general membership meeting. The Board will update the membership on Shul operations and plans. We will also be holding elections for four (5) officers:
President (currently Dovid Blumenthal – not running for reelection)
Treasurer (currently Adam Zimmer – not running for reelection)
Trustee x3 (currently Avrumi Blaivas, Moshe Raider and Moshe Siegel – Avrumi Blaivas is running for reelection)
Per our bylaws, each officer holds a two (2) year term. Candidates for Trustee do not specify a particular seat for which they are running; the top 2 vote-earners for Trustee will be elected.
Election Committee: The Board has formed an “Election Committee” to conduct the election, count the ballots and notify the membership of the results. The Election Committee consists of Naftoli Walfish (naftoli@gmail.com), Ari Weissman (weissman@email.com) and Simcha Wolin (swolin@gmail.com). Members of the Election Committee are not eligible to run for office.
Eligible Candidates: Any male member of the Shul, who has been a member of the Shul for at least one (1) year, shall be eligible to be elected. All candidates must be in “good standing.” “Good standing” is defined as a member who is current in their membership dues, including those current in their monthly payment plan. Members who are paying off other obligations, besides for membership, (kibbudim/kiddushim, etc.) may run for election. Please bear in mind that the Board of Trustees tries to meet on a monthly basis.
Election: The election will be conducted by secret ballot. Only members in “good standing” (i.e. up-to-date on membership fees) are eligible to vote. Members who are paying off other obligations, (kibbudim/kiddushim, etc.) may also vote. Additionally, anyone who has reached an alternate financial arrangement with the Board may vote.
There is no nomination process. If you would like to run for office and fit the above criteria, please inform any member of the Election Committee which office you are running for and your name will appear on the ballot. All candidates must inform the Election Committee of their intention to run, and the office for which they are running, no later than Sunday, December 24 by 12:00pm. We plan on sending out an e-mail later that day with the list of candidates.
If you are unable to attend the meeting, please contact a member of the Election Committee for an absentee ballot.
Please direct all questions to any member of the Election Committee.
